I teared up when the photographer showed me this shot. I cannot believe that this is me now. I feel different and strong.

Growing up was unbearable. I had massive self-esteem issues which made me socially awkward. I never went to gatherings, didn't like meeting new people and I was so shy I couldn't hold eye contact. For years, that was me - always fearful of what others thought of me to a point where I did nothing with my life.
One morning, a motivational speaker came to my school and what she said changed my entire worldview, "Take ownership of your choices. If you choose to hide from the world because you're afraid, then don't complain when you realise you've done nothing with your life."
I can't stomach the thought of being crippled because of fear, so I started saying 'yes.' First, with smaller goals like learning to make eye contact with people. Then I said yes to singing and songwriting which slowly progressed to uploading my songs on YouTube and performing live.
Eventually, I said yes to things I never thought I'll ever do, like hosting a live TV show or travelling the world, or more recently, producing my first music video!
The truth is, I don't always succeed; but I've learnt to treat each failure like a scientist - eliminating what doesn't work and try again.
I believe that fear shouldn't paralyse you, it should make you work harder.
Here's Whisper's video that can hopefully inspire you, the way that motivational speaker inspired me: https://youtu.be/fp_DZbYtyLQ 😍
